The Girardi ES9 and the Klose K17 are the only two guns in GTA 6 that Rockstar has tied to a protagonist by name. The editions page lists them as "Jason's Girardi ES9" and "Lucia's Klose K17", and the Ultimate Edition comes with engraved versions of both. Here's what we know about each one, what we don't, and whether you need the more expensive edition to get them.

Girardi ES9: Jason's pistol
The ES9 looks like a Beretta 92FS. That's more than a style choice. Rockstar's bio says Jason did a stint in the Army, and the M9, the military version of the 92FS, was the US Army's standard sidearm from 1985 until the M17 started replacing it in 2017.
The engraving on the Ultimate Edition version pushes the same idea. It reads "Sua Sponte", Latin for "of their own accord" and the motto of the US Army's 75th Ranger Regiment. Rockstar hasn't said Jason was a Ranger. The gun hints at it, and we'd be surprised if the story never brings it up.
The "Girardi" brand is new to the series. Like the Klose logo, it's one of Rockstar's usual parodies of a real maker.
Klose K17: Lucia's pistol
The K17 is a Glock 17 in everything but name. The number matches, and the Klose logo is styled like Glock's. It's one of the most common police and civilian pistols in the US. For someone fresh out of the Leonida Penitentiary, it makes sense: it's the gun that's easy to get hold of.
The Ultimate Edition version is engraved with roses and Lucia's signature.
The K17 isn't the only pistol she's been seen with. On the cover art she holds a different gun with "Nipper .38" printed on it, so she might switch between the two or pick up the Nipper later.
Do you need the Ultimate Edition to use them?
Almost certainly not. The Ultimate Edition's listing says "Personalized Weapon Variants", which means the engraved versions. The way Rockstar describes the guns as Jason's and Lucia's suggests the regular ES9 and K17 are part of the story in every edition. Rockstar hasn't said so outright, though. We'll confirm it on launch day.
The palm-tree pattern you might have seen on one of these pistols isn't an Ultimate extra. It's the Vintage Vice City pre-order pattern, and you get it with either edition if you pre-order before November 20. Our edition comparison covers the rest.
Why pistols matter more in GTA 6
According to Rockstar North's Rob Nelson, you can only keep two weapons concealed on you, and rifles and shotguns can't be hidden at all. Walking around town with a carbine on your back gets people's attention. A handgun doesn't. That makes the ES9 and K17 the guns you'll actually have on you most of the time.
