Lucia Caminos is one of GTA 6's two playable protagonists and the first female lead of the series since it went 3D. (GTA 1 and GTA 2 let you pick female characters, but none of them had a story.) Rockstar's bio says her father had her fighting almost as soon as she could walk, and that fighting for her family is what put her in the Leonida Penitentiary. She got out through luck more than anything, and she's determined not to waste it. GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026.

What drives her
Two things come through in Rockstar's description. One is her mother, who has wanted a better life since the family left Liberty City, and Lucia wants to be the one who gets it for her. The other is a promise to herself to stop making the kind of moves that landed her in prison. A life with Jason looks like it might be her way out, which is exactly the kind of gamble she says she's done with.
Trailer 1 opens with her in prison, and the Extended Look returns to it with a scene between Lucia and a corrections social worker at the penitentiary.
What the Extended Look showed
Several breakdowns of the August 27, 2026 gameplay showcase read her as the planner of the pair, with Jason as the muscle. The scenes she's in:
- Driving the getaway car in a bank job while Jason and Raul Bautista shoot at police from the back
- Hand-to-hand fights against bigger opponents, including a takedown with a stiletto heel
- A solo job, and a scene with an influencer livestreaming from a car trunk
- Base jumping
- The final job protecting Andres De Leon, alongside Jason
Playing as Lucia
You switch between Lucia and Jason instantly when they're together, and mid-mission when the job calls for it. The relationship between them is optional: Rob Nelson, head of Rockstar North, said the romance has to be nurtured and can fall apart. Her Klose K17, modeled on a Glock 17, gets an engraved version with roses and her signature in the Ultimate Edition.
On the cover
The cover art released on June 18, 2026 puts Lucia at the front, holding a gun and a briefcase, with Jason behind her. The pistol in her hand has "Nipper .38" printed on it, which is a different gun from her K17.
Still unknown
- What exactly she was convicted of
- How long she served
- Whether her mother appears in the game
