GTA 6 comes out on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and you can pre-order it in two versions: the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. The short answer is that most people should buy the Standard Edition. The rest of this page explains what the extra $20 gets you, so you can decide whether you're the exception.

What every pre-order gets
If you pre-order before November 20, 2026, you get the Vintage Vice City Pack whichever edition you pick. It includes:
- a 1955 Vapid Stanier limousine
- retro outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia
- an '80s-style weapon skin
- the Ocean Beach garage
- one month of GTA+
Watch the GTA+ month. It renews automatically and starts charging you once the free month ends. If you don't want it, cancel it the day you redeem it rather than trusting yourself to remember four weeks later.
What the Ultimate Edition adds
The extra $20 buys cosmetics, property and one side mission. None of it affects the story, and you don't need any of it to finish the game.
The vehicles are the headline: a 1995 Grotti Cheetah plus a few motorcycles. You also get two weapon variants, the Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers with palm tree engravings, and palm tree camo on the Micro SMG and SMG (a nod to Tommy Vercetti's shirt). There are more clothes and tattoos, two extra garages (Shore Court and Paradise), and access to tuning shops, a hair salon, a tattoo studio and the PTT-YOUNGIN$ headquarters.
The one piece of actual gameplay is the Classic Car Collection, a side mission built around restoring old cars.
Most of this content doesn't unlock on day one. It opens up as you progress through the story, so you won't start the game in a Cheetah.
Which one should you buy?
Buy the Standard Edition if you mainly care about the story and exploring Vice City. It's the whole game, and with the pre-order pack you still get a classic car, a garage and some outfits.
Buy the Ultimate Edition if you know you'll spend hours in garages and clothing stores. Collectors who want every car and every outfit will get their $20 worth. Anyone else is paying for items they'll look at twice.
You can decide later, too. Rockstar has usually sold upgrade packs after launch, so starting with Standard doesn't lock you out. (That hasn't been confirmed for GTA 6 yet, so don't count on it.)
Physical copies don't include a disc
The boxed version sold in stores contains a download code, not a disc. You'll still download the full game, so a disc drive won't help you, and you need the same free storage either way. See our preload guide for dates and file size.
Is there a Collector's Edition?
Not so far. Rockstar hasn't announced a version with statues, art books or other physical extras. Anything you see listed as a "GTA 6 Collector's Edition" is a rumor or a reseller guess.
